Small Screen Design
The Assignment
Our second assignment in Interface and Interaction Design was to create a cell-phone-based design for an application to purchase concert tickets. My partner, Alex Eiser, and I started by creating our use case persona, Mike, an inept graduate student out on a first date. The major constraint was that the application had to be legible and usable with only 180 x 320 pixels available on the screen.
WireFrames
After drafting our persona for the use case, our first step was to sketch wireframes. These set up the basic layout we intended to implement, and the functions of the buttons.
Navigation Map
The navigation map illustrates all the paths through the application, including the keys necessary to affect the transitions.
Final Presentation
We created this short presentation to remind our classmates of our persona and use case before demonstrating the flash mock-up of our application.
Flash Demo
The most important deliverable, this flash demo illustrates Mike's path through the application as he searches for concert tickets with which to impress his date.
