Typography Booklet

The Assignment

To demonstrate our understanding of page layout and text flow, one of our Communication Design Fundamentals assignments was to take text provided by the professor and make a booklet. There were no hard constraints on page size, orientation, color use, or fonts. Interior pages had to have page numbers and callout text. The final deliverable was a bound copy of the book.

Cover

The cover of our booklet had to contain the name of the booklet and our own name, and also had to suggest (but not strictly ahere to) to grid we used on the interior pages. I used text as both content and image, and established the accent color by using it as the background.

Interior Pages

I chose a landscape layout for the pages of my booklet, as even with only two columns there was not enough white space on the page to lay it out in portrait orientation. Extra space was necessary on the left side to accomodate the binding. The callouts and page numbers, as recurring themes, echo the blue of the cover to differentiate them from the main body of the text.
